SAFETYNETTM APP TERMS OF USE
1. Acceptance of Terms: By downloading, installing, or using the SafetyNET app (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service: The SafetyNET App is designed to help users capture incidents, assess threat levels, share with a trusted network, and communicate via secure chat. The App is intended for informational and personal safety purposes only and does not replace emergency services.
3. User Eligibility: To use the App, you must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent if you are a minor. By using the App, you affirm that you meet these requirements.
4. User Responsibilities:
- You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- You will not misuse the App for fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes.
- You will not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the functionality of the App.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
5. Privacy Policy: Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. No Emergency Services : The App is not a replacement for emergency services (e.g., 911). In the event of an emergency, you should contact local authorities directly. The App provides tools to document incidents and communicate with trusted contacts but does not guarantee immediate assistance.
7. Intellectual Property: All content, trademarks, logos, and technology used in the App are owned by SafetyNET or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, or modify any part of the App without prior written consent.
8. Third-Party Services: The App may integrate with third-party services for enhanced functionality. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or actions of any third-party services.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability:
- The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or security of the App.
- SafetyNET is not liable for any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to data loss, security breaches, or third-party actions.
10. Termination: We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at our discretion, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.
11. Changes to Terms: We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of Connecticut. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Haven County.
